When your child is seriously ill child with a heart condition, you'll find yourself with them in in hospital for long spells. It can be daunting, and lonely.
Those with the most complex conditions are likely to be sent to the Children's Heart Unit at Newcastle's Freeman Hospital, one of only 2 paediatric heart and lung transplant centres in the UK. Meaning many will be miles from home without their usual support network.
Chuf (Children's Heart Unit Fund) is there to support families through this terrifying journey, every step of the way. They help ensure Heart Heroes have the best possible opportunities throughout their treatment and beyond.
The charity provides top-up support for things that are simply beyond NHS capacity; raising vital funds for specialist equipment, facilities, aftercare, holistic services, research and practical measures that would otherwise not be possible.
They champion the little things, from seasonal treats and activities to brighten boring days and work hard to ensure that the teams caring for these children have what they need to give the best chances for their patients to not just survive, but to thrive.
Please help us to raise vital funds to help Chuf bring hope and magical moments to Heart families- every penny makes a difference!
