Story
Join Sleep Easy on Friday 9 October 2020 and help transform young lives
Did you know? - Every week, we support 750 young people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness in Sussex and Surrey
- Youth homelessness means a young person has no safe space to call home they are forced to sleep on the street, in shelters, vacant buildings or on sofas and floors
- We provide young people with more than a safe room to stay wraparound services that support them with mental health issues, budgeting, gaining employment, training or education, and wellbeing projects
What: Spend a night sleeping anywhere but your bed in your own home, such as a garden, hallway, or other floorspace, all to raise money to help tackle the root causes of youth homelessness.
Who: Anyone can take part! Families, businesses, teams and individuals are all welcome - with special activity packs available for children!
Where: Anywhere other than your bed! Connect with us on the night through our online agenda, which includes bedtime stories from Julia Donaldson and Floella Benjamin and a chance to hear from our young people about their experiences of youth homelessness.
YMCA DownsLink Group is one of the biggest providers of youth services across Sussex and Surrey, working with over 10,000 people every year. They provide emergency accommodation, housing, mental health support, access to training and employment, and much more, to give young people the chance to belong, contribute and thrive.
All money raised from Sleep Easy 2020 will be used to change young lives.
