Story
Five dedicated members of the Battens family, including our very own Solicitor Apprentice Charlie Rendell, are taking part in the Yeovil Half Marathon to raise vital funds for the Battens Charitable Trust.
Charlie says: "As an avid runner, I was elated to pair my love for the sport with a good cause. Battens Charitable Trust is a generous and fundamental organisation that I am proud to represent this year. I always look forward to new challenges and I aim to improve my time on race day!"
The Battens Charitable Trust was set up in 1985 to enable grants to be made to registered charities and for charitable purposes in Somerset, Dorset and adjoining counties. In the last decade alone, the trust has donated approximately £537,000 and counting. Beneficiaries have been as diverse as local schools, youth organisations, hospitals and hospices, local foodbanks, wildlife organisations, disability groups and the arts.
As we celebrate the trust’s 40th anniversary in 2025, we are more determined than ever to continue its legacy of giving back. Every step we take in the Yeovil Half Marathon is dedicated to ensuring that this incredible work continues for decades to come.
Your support means the world to us. Every penny donated will directly contribute to transforming lives and uplifting our local communities. Whether big or small, your generosity fuels this mission of hope and compassion.
Join us in running toward a brighter future. Together, we can celebrate the Battens Charitable Trust’s milestone anniversary with the gift of making a difference — one step, one donation, one life at a time.
Donate today and be part of this incredible journey!
