Seven Wells is fundraising to provide relief and aid for Yemen. Yemen’s food crisis is a direct, man-made result of the war. Since 2015, the economy has halved, and more than 80% Yemenis now live below the poverty line. The collapse of incomes and increase in prices have pushed food beyond many people’s reach.

The Prophet ﷺ said of the Yemeni people, “Do not curse them, for indeed they are from me and I am from them.” [Al-Haithami].

On the authority of Abu Hurairah رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ , the Prophet ﷺ said, “The people of Yemen have come to you, and they have the softest and gentlest of hearts. Faith (Iman) is Yemeni, understanding (Fiqh) is Yemeni, and wisdom (Hikmah) is Yemeni”. [Muslim].

On the authority of Thauban رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ , the Prophet ﷺ said, “Indeed (on the Day of Judgement) I will surely be at the centre of my Basin (Haud) pushing back people for the people of Yemen. I will strike away from it with my staff until it pours upon them (i.e. the people of Yemen”. [Muslim].

How will we answer Allah ﷻ and His Prophet ﷺ in relation to the people of Yemen, at a time they are facing a dire hunger and humanitarian crisis? Endeared by the Prophet ﷺ , this is an opportunity for us to bring happiness and joy to the Prophet ﷺ through helping a nation he loved and praised.

According to the UN, 14 million people – half the population – face a clear and present danger of imminent famine. The UN said Yemen risks becoming the worst famine seen in decades.

Over 24 million people are in need of humanitarian aid, and over 20 million people don’t know where their next meal will come from. That is more than two-thirds of Yemen’s population. Over 17 million people lack access to safe water. Children under the age of five continue to die daily in Yemen due to preventable causes. Almost 20 million people are in need of health assistance.

With your support, Seven Wells will be able to provide much needed aid to people of Yemen, insha'Llah ta'Allah. Seven Wells has extensive reach on the ground in Yemen to deliver aid and relief.

May Allah ﷻ give us the ability and success to support the people Yemen, so we may be raised amongst them on the Day of Judgement as a people who helped them, so that the Prophet ﷺ will help us and intercede for us.
