Story
We help fund the annual YAS Restart a Heart Day which offers CPR training for secondary school children. Since launching in 2014, 234,708 students have learnt CPR during 1,047 school visits thanks to ambulance staff and volunteers who have given 39,213 hours (2014-2024).
In 2024 we have over 170 schools signed up for Restart a Heart day on the 16th October, with over 700 volunteers giving their time to provide this lifesaving training.
YAS Charity funds the equipment and materials needed to deliver Basic Lifesaving, CPR and defibrillator training free to schools, and communities across Yorkshire.
Sadly less than 1 in 10 people survive an out of hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA). At YAS Charity one of our core aims is to enable communities to respond immediately to a medical emergency to help increase the chances of survival and keep more families and communities together.
YAS Charity relies on the generous donations of the public, our colleagues and volunteers to fund our work across Yorkshire. By donating to YAS Charity you can help ensure we can continue to provide lifesaving training and equipment for free, as well as our work to reduce health inequalities across Yorkshire and to support the health and wellbeing of our Yorkshire Ambulance Service colleagues and volunteers.
