Story

Yemen Crisis: 24 million people are in need of humanitarian aid.

What is the Yemen Crisis?

With COVID-19 spreading rapidly in the country, Yemen is trying to fight this devastating pandemic but unfortunately the country has limited resources that allow for detection, isolation and treatment of the disease.

More than five years of conflict has deepened Yemen's poverty, devastated its infrastructure, and caused widespread hunger and suffering and this disease is a second front that Yemen is unprepared for. The Yemen crisis is getting worse, day by day.

There are not enough hospital beds or supplies to treat those seriously ill. But, as we have seen in the UK, simple measures can make a huge difference.

If we act now to protect millions of vulnerable people, many lives can be saved.

* Due to ongoing conflict, blockades and delays in food imports, the food prices in Yemen constantly fluctuate. At times food prices have more than doubled during the ongoing conflict which began in March 2015.
