Birmingham Christmas Shelter opens its doors 24 hours a day during Christmas week so that up to 120 homeless, vulnerable and otherwise lonely adults can enjoy Christmas with people who care. This years will will be open from 24th to 28th December.
People are given a free safe place to sleep out of the cold, drinks, hot showers, entertainment, and as much food and treats as possible to build them up to withstand the cold weeks ahead.
Birmingham Christmas Shelter receives no public funding and replies entirely on donations and fundraising. It operates by a team of 250 dedicated volunteers who give their time for free.
