Story

Please support the Cancer Research UK Christmas Campaign and bring hope to families like Jennifer's this festive season. Because when we all give, we can create life-changing moments. Your donations, big and small, have helped us play a pivotal role in the advancement of cancer prevention and treatment, improving survival for people with the disease. For Jennifer, 48, this research may have saved her life. After being diagnosed with lung cancer in 2013, Jennifer was treated with a chemotherapy drug called Cisplatin that our scientists helped to develop. She has now been cancer free for more than eight years and can spend more Christmases with her husband and their son.

She says, "Without the research that led to Cisplatin, I might not be here today. I want to give people hope. There is life after cancer."

Unfortunately, Jennifer's story is different to so many. Only 10% of people with lung cancer will survive their disease for 5 years or more in England. We urgently need to improve survival, so that no one misses out on special moments with their loved ones. Your donations will accelerate progress so that our scientists can continue their life-saving research.
