Story
Wymondham College is a World Class state boarding and day school based in Norfolk.
We have over 1400 students at our school, including more than 600 boarding students. We are an outstanding school and strive to do the best for our students both academically and outside of the classroom.
The College has a vast enrichment programme offered to students, which being a boarding school is vitally important. The programme includes a range of sporting activities students can get involved with, including a cricket academy and numerous inter-school cricket fixtures played throughout the season.
Back in 2021, the school was able to start building the new cricket pavilion, thanks to a very generous donation from a former student. Sadly, during the building works it was discovered we had asbestos in the ground, which cost £50,000 to safely remove. Unfortunately, due to the asbestos issue we do not have enough funds to finish the project, we just have the shell of a building with no facilities, no walls, no flooring, no plumbing, no soakaway, and so on. If we were able to finish the pavilion, this would be a fantastic amenity for our students and the other schools that visit us.
The College needs to raise an additional £55,000 to finish the project for our students, which has now stood as a shell for many months on our sports field.
Any contribution made to our campaign would be gratefully received by our school and our sports department.
