Story
Our #TeamWren Fundraisers are setting out on the iconic, beautiful 55 mile bike ride from Clapham Common to Brighton Seafront. The London to Brighton Bike Ride is one of the final events of our summer fundraising campaign in which we're hoping to raise £25,000.
The Wren Project is incredibly grateful, honoured, and starstruck by our group of fundraisers getting into gear and getting up Ditchling Beacon before the dreamy descent down to Brighton Pier. It's a long, hot, hilly ride, but an absolutely incredible experience and well worth the endurance. Please donate to the team and help the Wren Project continue our vital work in ensuring that no one faces life with autoimmune disease alone.
Over the last 2 years the Wren Project:
has supported hundreds of people with autoimmune diseases cope with the distress, loneliness and isolation caused by diagnoses, and living with a long-term condition.
We've given these users our Wrens over 1279 hours of free 1:1 listening sessions, with the help of over 50 volunteers. We know these sessions have been a lifeline.
Let's do more
We want to keep supporting our Wrens, but also need to do more:
- We are training new volunteers, to reduce waiting times and make sure less people face a devastating autoimmune diagnoses alone.
- We're making our services even more responsive and collaborating with top researchers to explore the most effective ways to help people with autoimmune conditions with their mental health and wellbeing.
- And we're looking at ways to build a community, and support our Wrens, after their initial 1:1 sessions, because we know the impact of autoimmune conditions is for life.
All of this takes time, energy, compassion and money. And to do it we need investment in increasing our team of dedicated and highly-trained volunteers, in developing our group and peer support service, and in making sure there are enough people at Wren HQ to keep the charity growing and thriving. There are busy times ahead.
