Story
On 18th September, we're cycling one of 3 routes - 'Couch to 25k' and 'Couch to 50k' routes for novice cyclists (training plans available) and those who have got out of the habit of cycling; and a hilly '60k Challenger Route' for those who cycle regularly for Wylam on Wheels. All routes start and finish in the village of Wylam in the beautiful Tyne Valley. The routes will be well signed, through beautiful countryside on relatively quiet roads. Feed stations are provided mid-way through the routes. Fabulous homemade afternoon tea will be served at the end of the ride.

Wylam Community Playing Fields Association was established nearly 50 years ago to own and manage Wylam Jubilee Field on behalf of the community of Wylam. The Jubilee Field is one of our villages most valuable assets. It provides football training for around 200 Wylam Rockets children and is home to Wylam Cricket Clubs mens and junior teams. Many visitors come to enjoy our playground facilities and lovely open space and in turn support our village businesses.
It is of huge benefit to the whole community to have the Field run by the village for the village. By managing it in this way, we have access to charitable funding benefits; we can decide on what facilities we want to provide and we avoid the huge overhead of management fees. Our income is generated through applications for grants and by fund raising. We are delighted to bring Wylam on Wheels to the village and look forward to developing this event into a well established and well loved day in our village calendar.
