Story
Six brave staff from the RSPCA Leicestershire, Peterborough & Rutland Branch will be taking to the skies, in August, on the top of a vintage bi-plane in a breath-taking demonstration of their love for animals, to raise much need funds to support animals in need .
Our team, from the RSPCA rehoming centre based in Leicester are aiming to raise £4,000 for new specialist orthopaedic equipment for our vet centre to be able to treat patients with broken bones and fractures.
The vet centre treats Woodside’s resident rescue animals waiting to be rehomed, as well as cruelty case animals and wildlife brought in by the national RSPCA inspectors. However, we do not currently have the equipment to treat patients with fractures and broken bones, so any animals with these injuries have to be sent to private vet practices, at additional cost to the charity as well as additional stress for the animals.
Woodside Animal Centre is an independent charity to the national RSPCA so we receive no government or regular funding and rely solely on public donations to keep our centre running. It costs about £20,000 per week to keep Woodside Animal Centre running.
We thank you in advance for reading our story and all donations however big or small, are greatly appreciated, and will help towards animals in the Leicestershire, Peterborough and Rutland getting the veterinary treatment they desperately need.
