Story
The cancellation of fundraising events such as marathons, cycles, and walks for 2020, means that charity organizations such as SBHI are facing a substantial loss in fundraised income this year, running into tens of thousands of euro.
With this in mind, we invite you to take part in the virtual VHI Women's Mini Marathon 2020. The VHI Women's Mini Marathon, an annual 10K charity road race, occurs each June bank holiday weekend in Dublin and is the largest women's event of its kind in the world. This years event is going virtual and will take place from the 1st - 10th October.
You can do it your way. With friends, in your garden, in one go, or maybe you'd prefer to spread the distance over a few days, you decide! We can't be together, but we can still come together virtually and support people living with spina bifida and/or hydrocephalus and their families each and every day, even during a global pandemic.
It's quick and easy to get involved, here's how:
1. Register with the VHI Women's Mini Marathon
2. Contact SBHI Fundraising Coordinator, Alex ( alex@sbhi.ie ), to receive your fundraising pack.
3. Create your Fundraising page by clicking 'Start fundraising'.
4. Share it on your social media .
5. Most importantly - have FUN!
Spina Bifida Hydrocephalus Ireland (SBHI) provides essential information, support and advice to everyone living with spina bifida and/or hydrocephalus in Ireland. For more information, please visit: www.sbhi.ie
Our major fundraising events for 2020 are no longer able to take place as a result of social distancing, but our essential services delivered by our family support workers, health and education professionals continues. Our services are only partially funded by the Government, and we rely heavily on fundraised income. This is why we are so grateful that VHI created this fantastic opportunity to participate virtually in the Women's Mini Marathon and help charities such as SBHI raise funds and awareness!
