Story
Wolo Foundation helps families through their cancer journeys by working with their local community to offer practical help and support to make their day-to-day lives easier.
Having recently battled cancer herself, founder Fler Wright and her husband Justin want to be able to help families going through similar experiences. There was a distinct lack of support available to them due to their circumstances, so they created Wolo to help fill this gap. Wolo currently supports families living in Sussex with children under the age of 18 years. The name WOLO came about as Fler & Justin loved the acronym YOLO (you only live once) and enjoy living their lives with their young family to the full - so they adapted it, and created WOLO - which stands for we only live once.
To date, Wolo have helped families with a huge variety of services. They work closely with their local community to offer families a wealth of services to support them at what is, a very stressful time. Services such as; child care, cleaning, gardening, health and wellbeing therapy sessions (for both adults and children), legal services such as will writing, complimentary therapies to ease the side effects of treatment, and have offered opportunities for relaxation/pampering, memory making by supplying annual passes to local attractions/pantomimes/events, purchased medical aids - plus much more.
Such a thoughtful and kind charity set up by a wonderful and caring family. Fler knows only too well the impact that cancer can have on a family, and sadly I am now terminally ill. Wolo have supported me with massages when I have pulled muscles due to coughing, tidied my front garden when my husband just didnt have time and sent our children and me to the theatre at Christmas to see the panto. Such wonderful support and memory making. Thank you.
Wolo also have a range of branded clothing and merchandise available on their website as well as the Wolo ShoeBox - a document they have created for everyone which helps to organise ones affairs into a single document in the event of the unthinkable. The last year really has been, in so many ways, the worst ever year for me, my wife and my kids. Without the generosity of Fler and Wolo I cant even imagine where we'd be right now. We really cant thank Wolo enough for all of the help that they have given us throughout these truly terrible times.

Statistics show that 1 in 2 people in the UK born after 1960 will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. Life is precious - we need to make the most of it - we only live once. Wolo!
Thank you for your support.
