Story
Just before Christmas Teddy, a young schnauzer arrived into the care of Hope Rescue in Wales. He was seriously ill and without Hope securing him immediate veterinary treatment he would have died. With complications from critical urinary tract issues, Teddy was admitted to hospital where he stayed several nights. At one stage it was touch and go whether he would survive.
He pulled through and has been recovering with his foster family. There have been ongoing concerns, bouts of sickness, agitation and other symptoms requiring regular trips to the vet. Teddy is not a happy boy, and there has clearly been something serious going on, long before he was signed over the Hope.
After undergoing extensive tests and investigations, all indications are that Teddy has a livershunt. This is serious but treatable. Once treated, in most cases, dogs go on to live perfectly happy, healthy lives. However, in order to do this for Teddy, a CT scan is required, followed by specialist, complicated surgery at Langfords Referral Centre.
The estimated cost for this is in the region of £7000.
Schnauzerfest agreed at Christmas to provide everything he needs to get him well. It is exactly what our charity is here for: to support rescues doing life-saving work, day in, day out. Hope Rescue has several dogs in their care at the moment who all need expensive veterinary care. Schnauzerfest stands beside Hope, to ease some of the financial pressure on them by paying Teddy's veterinary bills.
All dogs deserve the best chance to live happy, healthy lives, without donations and support for Teddy, his future would be bleak. We know that we, Hope, and all our supporters will want to give Teddy his very best chance. We know his future is worth every penny it will cost to make him well again.
