Join us as we celebrate #25 years of fundraising at My WiSH Charity
2020 sees us celebrate our 25th birthday. Yes, we were first launched on 15th September 1995 and what an amazing 25 years we have had.
To mark this momentous occasion we want to celebrate the number 25 and we are asking you to come up with wacky and fun ideas. You could go retro and sit in a bath of 25 tins of beans, you could decide to follow the Bake Off route and raise £25 at a bake sale, or to use it as an excuse to get fit and take on the challenge of running 25 miles. The choice is yours.
Back in 1995 the very first appeal was to build a new wing on the Rainbow Ward so we knew we felt it was only right that all money raised for our #25 challenge would support our WiSH Upon a Star children's appeal.
Our #25 Appeal will specifically raise £25,000 to fund a play specialist in the emergency department at West Suffolk Hospital. This vital role helps to make the department less scary and more fun for the young patients and, in turn, potentially prevent future hospital phobia.
And ending this special year will be our third My WiSH Charity Soapbox Challenge. We weren't able to host it in 2020 so 4th September 2021 will see us round off our yearlong celebrations with our most spectacular event. Click the link above to sign up or find out more.

Special thanks go to Andy Abbott for raiding the archives and finding us some great photos. Andy started fundraising for the Rainbow Appeal back in 1995 after his daughter Katie (pictured below) spent 7 weeks on the ward. He is still an amazing part of our lives today and we thank him for his continued support.
