Story

Last year, during Mental Health Awareness week a team of staff and people we support at Wintercomfort collectively climbed to the summit of Ben Nevis, in less than two hours at Clip n’ Climb Cambridge! It was a fantastic afternoon spent together, having fun, doing something active, being part of a team, learning a new skill and gaining confidence.

This year we are aiming even higher! On Wednesday 15th May, in collaboration with our friends at Clip 'n Climb Cambridge, a team of staff and people we support are aiming to scale the walls of their climbing arena and reach the height of Mount Everest, whilst raising money for our Social Inclusion Programme.

Many people who attend Wintercomfort often experience poor mental health. Our Social Inclusion Programme is hugely important in helping people to build self-confidence, resilience and mental wellbeing.

Activities include group visits in and around Cambridge, such as trips to the Botanic Gardens, fishing days, visits to the seaside as well as fitness programmes and personal training.

The money raised will help us to continue to ensure that all people within our community have access to these positive, well-being opportunities.
