We want everyone affected by crime to be offered Restorative Justice – a transformative tool that brings harmed and harmer into communication. We increase access to Restorative Justice through impactful publicity; develop best practice to dismantle barriers; and campaign for a fairer justice system.

Story

Why me? has had some big successes in 2024 in spreading the word about RJ!

Our exciting short film, “What would you say?” powerfully communicates that people affected by crime feel silenced, and that RJ gives them back their voice. It has been viewed 5,500 times in its first ten days, and been submitted for a film award #takethetapeoff.

Restorative Justice messages appeared on 245 billboards across the UK during April, which were seen 21,537,000 times. The impact was reflected in our homepage traffic, which increased 50%, and included 4,703 new users.

Congratulations on this great campaign - looks amazing! And of great benefit to all of us working in RJ in the UK".

We distributed our manifesto to senior figures in the main parties before the election, and have been instrumental in securing a new Restorative Justice All Party Parliamentary Group, already actively promoting RJ as a key element of developments in the Criminal Justice System. Lord Timpson has acknowledged the benefits of Restorative Justice for harmed, harmer and their communities. We will campaign to ensure this is reflected in future policy, strategy and legislation.
