Story

In January 2023, we were contacted by a local vets who had a dog at their practice that was about to be put to sleep by their owner unless we could step in. Of course, we did not hesitate to give this boy a chance.

Whisky has been used as a breeding dog and has multiple health issues for a young dog. Whisky has a detached retina, rotten teeth and when he came to us, his back legs were very weak, meaning that he was walking on his knees. He immediately saw a local vet and was put on pain relief, which after a few days, meant that he was able to walk on his feet again. Since then, he has gone from strength in a foster home, but now, he needs surgery and a family of his own.

This loving lad will need is eye removed, the majority of his teeth removed and will be castrated. Once he's had these surgeries, he will need a loving home to recover in and continue to rehabilitate him and his legs.

Whisky is one of the sweetest, most affectionate dogs we've ever met. We can't believe that someone would want to end his life so quickly when he's got so many chances of a happy and healthy life...

The super sweet sausage dog can fit into most homes, so could live with children and other pets, but sadly he cannot live with cats (we have tried this), If you have the time, patience and financial stability to support Whisky down the line if he needs spinal or rear leg support, then you're most to apply to be considered for rehoming by following the link: https://eur01b.sheltermanager.com/service?account=rc0266&method=online_form_html&formid=13

If we're lucky enough to raise more than £1,000 for Whisky, this will go towards rescuing other animals that find themselves in similar situations.
