The Women’s Health Information Support Centre (WHISC) plays a vital role in supporting women and families from across the Liverpool City Region, many of whom are vulnerable and in urgent need of assistance and intervention.
WHISC’s services are currently in higher demand than ever. In the past year alone, our dedicated staff and volunteers have provided over 9,000 hours of support and services, including:
121 listening service
Advocacy support
Health information
Anti-poverty support
Warm hub and safe space
Community outreach
Peer support
Group wellbeing sessions
Skills and activity sessions
Volunteer training and employment opportunities
For a small, local charity like WHISC, community donations provide a vital lifeline, helping to ensure that the women we serve get access to the support they need.
A hot drink and snack for every woman (and child/ren) who walks through our door - £1
A basic hygiene essentials support pack for a woman in crisis - £7
Travel expenses for families (a woman and up to 3 children) so that they can visit us to access support - £12 / day
A 121 listening service for a woman in a complex crisis situation - £22.50.
If you’re able to consider making a donation - however small - we’d be grateful for your support.
Every penny donated makes a direct difference to the lives of women and families across the Liverpool City Region
