Here at Wolverhampton Grand Theatre, accessibility and inclusivity are at the heart of everything we do. Our Outreach team are dedicated to creating a welcoming environment for all, ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to experience the magic of live theatre.
We offer Relaxed and Chilled Performances throughout the year across a variety of productions. These specially-adapted performances provide a supportive and inclusive environment for individuals who may find the traditional theatre setting overwhelming.
More information about our Relaxed and Chilled Performances can be found here: bit.ly/RelaxedPerformancesWolves.
To further support our audiences, our Front of House and Security teams have received autism awareness training, alongside our Access Champions, who are also on hand to assist with any additional needs ahead of your visit — whether arranging an orientation visit before a performance, providing a quiet space if you need to step away during a show, or simply offering guidance to make your experience as comfortable as possible.
An orientation video is also available to help you familiarise yourself with our venue: bit.ly/AccessibilityTour.
For more details about our access work and performances, brochures are available in our Front of House areas.
On Mon 28 Apr, we're excited to be taking part in a sponsored 5K Autism Acceptance Walk around Wolverhampton’s West Park. This special event will bring together Grand Theatre staff, their family and friends to raise vital funds for our Relaxed Performances and Outreach initiatives, ensuring theatre remains accessible and welcoming for neurodiverse audiences.
Let’s step up together for acceptance and inclusion! Your support will help us make a difference with 100% of every donation will go towards ensuring theatre remains open and accessible.
Please consider sponsoring our 5K walk and helping us create a more inclusive theatre experience for all.
