We are devastated to have recently lost our Hobbit House, which represents enormous amounts of hard work by our dedicated volunteers, following an arson attack at West Boldon Lodge.

Following this incident, we are aiming to purchase a bell tent which will give us a more flexible sheltered space for future use and can be taken inside for security overnight. Any support you can provide us in this endeavour is deeply appreciated.

Safety is of paramount importance to our team and we will also be rolling out a major security upgrade which includes the installation of improved perimeter fencing.

If you would like to help the centre recover from this incident and improve resilience, you can join the centres regular Conservation Volunteer group on Wednesday 16th October, 10:00 - 3:00, you can donate materials to rebuild the hobbit house once the security improvements have been installed, or you can donate money to support the purchase of a bell tent and if we exceed our target hopefully a Hobbit House re-build via this page.
