Story
Update: The works to the pool were booked and deposits paid prior to Covid-19. As such the school stood to lose a substantial amount of money if they did not proceed. The works have therefore gone ahead and have been paid for using emergency school and PTA funds. Both organisations will enter the 20/21 academic year with no funds to fall back on for emergencies. Please help us rebuild funds to support the school and continue the provision of extra resources to enhance the education of children at the school.
The Wentworth Primary School swimming pool was originally provided through fundraising and is a hugely valuable resource. In addition to providing on site swimming lessons to school pupils themselves, the wider community also benefit as local swim schools run numerous sessions from the pool.
Major works are now required to replace the pool liner, repair leaks and improve the safety of the pool surround. This is a significant cost to the school, the Wentworth Association PTA had committed to help fund these essential works to keep the pool running now and in to the future.
Due to the impact of Covid-19 fund raising activities by the PTA have been severely curtailed thus impacting the associations ability to contribute to works.
Please help us to ensure that this amazing resource remains open to current and future pupils in addition to the many young people in the local community that benefit from the pool as they attend independent swimming lessons.
