Story
2020 sees the Primrose Foundation celebrate our 25th Anniversary. For those that may not know us, the Primrose Foundation is your local breast care charity working in partnership with University Hospitals Plymouth (UHP), providing the best possible care, support and a range of services to those who need breast care and treatment, including cancer care.
We had planned to celebrate this momentous occasion by holding a silver and sparkly anniversary ball on 18 April, which was to see old and new faces and showcase all the great things the foundation have achieved over the past 25 years, including donating over £1.2 million into local breast care services. However, like many large events and for all the right reasons, weve pressed pause on our ball, due to COVID 19.
So, everyone at The Foundation thought we could still celebrate, because we all need a little colour in our lives right now dont we? So, wed like to celebrate with you all, from the safety of our homes -virtually of course! So, anyone who has been affected by breast cancer, in any way wed love you to join us by simply wearing something yellow for the day on the 18th April instead. Get the whole family involved and just have a little fun with it! Whether you wish to simply add a yellow accessory and go all out and dress from top to toe in yellow we would love for you to share your photographs with us. You could even hold a virtual party and invite your friends and family to partake too perhaps use one of the apps such as Zoom, Whats App, Facetime or skype.
To get involved, were asking for a small donation of just £2.25 from each person who wishes to celebrate with us we hope thats Ok. Every penny raised goes towards the Breast care services at University Hospitals Plymouth and with medicine advances and technology improving all the time, our wish list for these all-important serves is ever evolving.
Lets keep our spirits up everyone and have a giggle, whilst raising some valuable funds we cant wait to see what everyone gets up to!
Thank you for taking the time to read our story.
We hope you have fun.
Best wishes
The Primrose Foundation
