The Primrose Foundation is delighted to be celebrating 25 years of supporting the breast care services at University Hospitals Plymouth.

Local support has enabled us to fund essential equipment, research and education. We work with the whole of the Breast care team and our dedicated volunteers to make our patients experience as comfortable as possible, we also support the families and friends of those affected by breast cancer. Our aim has always simply been to provide the best possible range of care and support when it's needed most.

The Foundation grew from an original appeal that was set up to shape the future of breast care services at University Hospitals Plymouth. The objective was to provide a rapid access service for women (and men) who were referred with symptomatic or suspected signs of breast cancer. The appeal was a huge success that allowed the Primrose Breast care centre to open in 2001.

The Foundation has grown in strength over the years and owes it success to the many people that have supported and fundraised for us. In those 25 years we have been able to donate over £1.2 million to breast services locally.

We want to make 2021 our most successful year so far and invite you to help us achieve that aim.

The Primrose Foundation would like to encourage everyone to add a little colour into their lives by simply wearing something yellow for the day on the 19th April 2021 (National Primrose day). Get the whole family involved and just have a little fun with it! Whether you wish to simply add a yellow accessory and go all out and dress from top to toe in yellow we would love for you to share your photographs with us.

To get involved, were asking for a small donation of just £2.50 from each person who wishes to celebrate with us we hope thats OK. Every penny raised goes towards supporting The Primrose Breast Care Centre and with medicine advances and technology improving all the time, our wish list for the centre is ever evolving.

So, lets all join in together and have a giggle, whilst raising some valuable funds we cant wait to see what everyone gets up to!
