Story
On April 1 2019, Breast Cancer Care and Breast Cancer Now merged to create the UK's largest breast cancer charity, united around the aim that by 2050 everyone who develops breast cancer will live and receive the support they need to live well now.
Breast Cancer Now's wear it pink day is one of the biggest fundraising events in the UK. Taking place on 18 October during Breast Cancer Awareness Month, thousands of amazing people will wear it pink in their communities, schools or work places to help fund life-saving research.
Since our first event in 2002, together we've raised over £31.5 million to help fund our life-saving research. Research that's working to discover how to prevent breast cancer, how to detect it earlier and how to treat it effectively at every stage so we can stop the disease taking lives.
How do I take part in wear it pink?
It's easy - just register, wear something pink on 18 October and raise money. You'll be helping to make cutting edge breast cancer research happen, provide life-changing support and campaign effectively for better services and care. If you're at work, get your colleagues involved and join in the fun with our fundraising sweepstakes or quizzes. Schools could have a non-uniform day; check out our recipes to hold a cake sale and don't forget prizes for the best fancy dress! If you're looking to take part in your community you could organize a special wear it pink party to bring everyone together and raise vital funds for Breast Cancer Now.
