Story
The Watton Hub was Norfolk's first ever Clubhouse hub - a free-to-join charity organisation which provides mental health support services and employability skills training, to help anyone aged 18+ to regain a sense of wellbeing and purpose.
With the Norwich Hub hard to reach for many people living in Watton and the surrounding areas, and with very little in the way of mental health provisions in this region, it is vital that the Watton location remains operational. However, to ensure the group's future, Norfolk Clubhouse needs to raise £4,000 in funds to cover the cost of part-time support workers and venue hire for the next year.
Every penny raised through this campaign will go towards providing much-needed services that enable people to take ownership of their own recovery. From craft, music and cooking groups designed to build social skills and provide healthy outlets, through to peer coaching and skills mentoring to help people back into work, there are myriad ways in which Norfolk Clubhouse services in Watton and Norwich work to support adults in the local community.
You can see anonymous feedback from some of the Clubhouse's members below.
I’d just like to express how much I value Watton Norfolk Clubhouse. I can honestly say the support offered has helped me through a very dark year with regards to my mental health."
You were the only place that came back to me when I asked for help. You visited me and I am not giving up now.”
It took me five times to muster up the courage to come through the door. The reason I came was to connect to other people. Coming to the group has now given me the confidence to interact with others.”
I hope to eventually move forward with my life, perhaps with voluntary work or even paid employment. I’m aware the group can help me achieve my personal goals, as and when I’m ready.”
