Having worked in Tanzania for the last 10 years, we have helped build Muzdalipha Primary School in an area called Mwakadelia. As a leading school in Tanga, we now need a secondary school to allow the children to continue with free education.
Education is the key to unlocking a better future yet millions of children in Africa are denied access to a basic education particularly in rural areas where poverty, lack of infrastructure and cultural barriers keep them from attending schools. That's why we're launching this campaign to build a new secondary school in Tanga, Tanzania and we need your help to make it happen!
We have been working in Tanzania for the last 10 years and have helped build Muzdalipha Primary School in an area called Mwakadelia. There are many orphans in the surrounding areas and we decided that the children would be in a better environment if we reduced the financial burden on the family who are their guardians. We have an existing orphan sponsor programme in place where we pay for the orphans' education and living costs are paid to the guardians. It has been an extremely successful programme. Last month, we presented some of the extremely poor families of our guardians with a new home too.
As our existing orphans are now reaching the end of their primary education, we now need a secondary school so they can continue with their free education and support on the land which now has a working educational farm and a mosque.
50 cyclists will be riding 60 or 100 miles in the Ride London Event again this year on the 28th May 2023 to raise funds towards building this new secondary school. We successfully raised over £100,000 for our Solar to Homes project on Pemba Island last year.
Our goal is to provide a safe, welcoming and supportive learning environment where students can grow academically, socially, and emotionally. We believe that education is the most effective way to break the cycle of poverty and empower young people to create a positive change in their communities. With your support, we can make this vision a reality.
Here's how your donation will make a difference:
£10,000 will build a classroom
£15,000 will build an IT suite
£20,000 will help build a science laboratory
The total build cost for the school will be £275,000 which will have separate boys and girls wings. Each wing will have 4 classrooms, 2 science labs, an IT suite, a library and staff rooms.
We are hoping this event can fund as many of these rooms as possible inshAllah!
Please donate today and spread the word about this campaign to your friends, family, and colleagues. Together, we can create lasting change and empower the next generation of African leaders.
