Story
Every year at Christmas WASLER support 100s of women, children and young people affected by domestic abuse, we would normally collect pesents and gifts from generous individuals and organisation across the communities we serve but this year due to the pandemic we are having to do things a bit differently.
Since the start of the pandemic we have seen an increase in reports of domestic abuse, additionally women have been impacted by financial insecurity and have experienced increased isolation due to social distancing and restrictions which have been put in place to protect us from Covid-19.
This year instead of asking for presents we are asking those who want to support our work and make a difference to women and children to make a financial donation to help us support the families we work with, this willinclude helping us provide food and essential to families we work with who have no recourse to public funds.
Last year WASLER supported over 20 families who had no recourse to public funds and we are currently supporting over 200 women and 300 children and young people.
