We need funding to support vital washroom facility upgrades so beneficiaries can use our space in a dignified way. We strive to ensure the mind/body benefits of Yoga are accessible to all. Our outdated washrooms are a barrier to our mission because they are difficult for wheelchair users to navigate and are outdated accessible tools that we inherited when we took on the building.

In March 2024, we had four separate call-outs to fix poor Victorian plumbing systems and had to close for four days to excavate the drain system for the toilet facilities. At the moment they are out of order every two weeks. We need facility upgrades to avoid further disruption.

We have sought input from our beneficiaries/quotes from knowledgeable companies to address access requirements, including installing electric door closers and reconfiguring the layout to facilitate direct access to the disability toilet with a secure, fold-down changing unit.

We understand the importance of safe, hygienic facilities for attendees of prenatal/postnatal classes with young children. We aim to implement comprehensive upgrades encompassing new cubicles, doors, mirrors, safety flooring, grab rails, and establishing a gender-neutral bathroom.
