Story
Warwick Lions Club was founded on February 20th, 1961. In the 60 years since, we have helped thousands in need in our community. To celebrate our 60th birthday, we are hoping to achieve the ambitious goal of raising £6,000 by the end of 2021 to help make up for the loss in fundraising we experienced in 2020. Our two biggest fundraisers, the Warwick Town Bonfire and Carols at the Castle, were sadly cancelled due to the pandemic. Each member has been asked to run their own fundraiser - they can set their own goal but it must have a 6 and a 0 in it!
If you are wondering what we do in the community, here are some of the things we have done in the last year: delivered food to hundreds of our neighbours throughout the year, donated laptops to local schools, supported local charities that struggled due to the pandemic, like Safeline and Sea Scouts, supported other community efforts like Morrison's Community Support team's Operation Snowfall, and helped individuals and families in urgent need of support. We have provided them with things like furniture, white goods, baby items, and school uniforms.
