A Warm Church!

Help us keep Holy Saviour warm!

Our beautiful Victorian church in Radcliffe Road, home of the Hitchin Christmas Tree Festival, is noted for its musical tradition. Only donations pay for our minister and pay to maintain the building. Please help us now to keep our church alive and continue to serve the local community.

Story

Help us keep Holy Saviour warm and welcoming!

Holy Saviour Church has been part of life in Hitchin for generations. Our beautiful Grade II* listed Victorian church is, of course, a place of worship, but it is also a much-loved community space used throughout the year for children’s groups, concerts, clubs, events and local gatherings.

Every Christmas, we are also proud to open our doors for the Hitchin Christmas Tree Festival, which celebrates its 30th anniversary this year and welcomes thousands of people into the church.

But last autumn, our heating system finally broke down.

Since then, keeping the church warm enough to use has become a real challenge. We have had to turn down requests from local groups wanting to hold events here because we cannot provide a suitably heated space.

After taking extensive advice and considering the options available for our historic building, the Church Council has decided to install a new system of overhead radiant electric heaters.

The project will cost around £50,000, and we need to raise £30,000 towards the cost.

That’s why we need your help.

Every donation, large or small, will bring us closer to having a warm, welcoming church once again. For Sunday services, community groups, concerts, celebrations, the Christmas Tree Festival and all the other occasions that bring people through our doors.

By supporting our heating appeal, you’ll be helping to ensure that this special building can continue to serve the people of Hitchin for years to come.

Please donate if you can, and help us keep Holy Saviour warm. Thank you for your support.
