Story
Ward 26 at Heartlands Hospital is home to the West Midlands Adult Cystic Fibrosis Centre, treating over 300 people with cystic fibrosis every year.
Cystic fibrosis is a genetic disorder affecting more than 10,400 people in the UK. Patients with cystic fibrosis will spend much of their time in hospital and with your support, we can help make visits and stays at Heartlands Hospital more comfortable and enjoyable for them and their families.
Carl and Peter have chosen to fundraise for Ward 26 as the ward has a personal connection to them. Peter's step daughter Nikita sadly passed away at the age of 26 from Cystic Fibrosis at the same time as Peter and his friends reached the John O'Groats sign post on their last charity fundraiser which raised more than £10.000 for various charities.
Peter said "Nikita always spoke highly of the care and support that she and others with Cystic Fibrosis received during time spent on Ward 26 the Cystic Fibrosis Centre at Heartlands Hospital so we would like to be able to give something back".
