War Child FC is a program designed to help children who have been affected by war across Africa, the Middle East and Asia.

During our time working in the Central African Republic, our teams on the ground were having a real problem connecting with children who had been affected by the fighting; they could not get them to open up about their experiences and begin the healing process. In they end, they took the kids outside for a fun game of football. When the group returned to the 'classroom' they were suddenly more willing to talk to their peers and the support teams. And so War Child FC was born!

This is the first time War Child UK have incorporated structured football programming as a part of their support programs and it will include coaching, life skills and psychosocial support to help children recover from trauma and develop careers and livelihoods for the future.
