World Ocean School empowers students from all backgrounds to be courageous and compassionate changemakers for themselves, their communities, and our planet through transformative education aboard our iconic tall ships.
Since our founding in 2002, World Ocean School has educated more than 23,000 students aboard our 137’ schooners Roseway and Denis Sullivan. In 2023, 604 students participated in our maritime-focused STEM and social emotional educational programs.
Each year, we partner with Boston Public Schools’ highest need schools to bring our programs to their students in 5th-12th grade.
World Ocean School’s hands-on curriculum is focused both on maritime-based STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) as well as social emotional skills including resilience, teamwork, and communication.
World Ocean School offers students onboard experiences that broaden their world and positively impact their learning and personal growth.
