Jamie’s story showcases the true impact of your fundraising. Raised in a loving home, Jamie faced early challenges, uncontrolled diabetes leading to disruptive behaviour. Then, at the age of 12 he discovered his dad was not his biological father. Struggling with the emotional fallout, despite years of medication and therapy, he turned to drugs and alcohol, falling in with the wrong crowd and eventually becoming homeless and addicted to heroin by age 16.

But hope found Jamie at 33yrs old through a Christian couple from his past who guided him into a Christian rehab program, where he emerged a changed man. With renewed purpose, Jamie joined Street Connect as a volunteer, entering our aftercare programme, where we supported him to rebuild his life, reconnect with his family and, through an SC internship, learn to help others facing similar struggles. Today, Jamie is happily married and thriving, working full time for Bethany Christian Trust, a testament to the transformative power of your support.
