Story
I'm Walking for Waldenstrom's because a WMUK Support Line would empower so many people.
*UPDATE* We're astounded to announce that our amazing Walk for Waldenstrom's team have hit our £25,000 target to fund and run the new WMUK Support Line. We're truly blown away by everyone's efforts, which will go on to help so many people. There are still plenty of events to come, and fundraising will continue - all funds raised over the £25,000 target will go towards funding our other, equally important support projects in 2022, like information production, 1-2-1 support services and healthcare professional education.
Join the Waldenstroms macroglobulinaemia community to help raise vital funds that will launch the WMUK Support Line.
In 2022, WMUK plans to launch the UK's first ever WM-specific support line. The WMUK Support Line will be a vital service for people affected by Waldenstrom's macroglobulinaemia, their families and friends. Staffed by a WM healthcare professional, it will be open to anyone who needs expert information, advice, or simply a listening ear.
We need the funds to get this vital service up and running, which is why we're asking the WM community to join together and walk 1,700km to raise £17,000 for the WM Support Line.
Whether you have a wander with friends, do laps of your garden, or hike the hills, every penny you raise will ensure people affected by WM will always have somewhere to turn to find answers, support and reassurance.
Vicky Towers, a WM patient, says, "The WMUK Support Line would not just empower me but give me hope in my darkest moments, and I'm sure it would do the same for so many other patients and their families. That's why I'm walking for Waldenstrom's."
By joining together with friends, family and the WM community, you'll be able to make the WMUK Support Line a reality, and ensure everyone with WM has somewhere to turn to find answers, reassurance and hope.
