Story

Walk for Plunkett returns for another year and we'd love you to join us in walking some miles to raise money that will help support rural communities up and down the UK.

Plunkett is the UK's only charity providing ongoing expert advice and support to rural communities who are setting up and running businesses that are owned and run democratically by members of the community.

To ensure we can continue being on hand to help even more communities who are coming together to create a community-owned business, we rely on the kindness and generosity of individuals, corporate partners and funders.

By taking part in Walk for Plunkett over the 12th to 14th May, you'll be helping us to make a difference to the lives of people living in rural areas, especially as they face the impact of the crippling cost of living crisis.

A community business is the beating heart of any rural village. Not only do they retain much-needed services and facilities within remote areas, they help reduce isolation and loneliness through volunteering and social activities; they create life-changing employment and training opportunities, they support environmental initiatives - lessening our impact on the planet, and they enable access to technology so no-one is cut-off.

If you'd like to join Walk for Plunkett to help more rural communities become thriving, resilient and inclusive places, please visit www.plunkett.co.uk/walk-for-plunkett to start your Walk for Plunkett challenge.
