Story
You are invited to join us on our first ever Walk for Plunkett, over the 14th to 16th May, when we'll be aiming to walk at least 1,000 miles in support of communities all over the UK.
Community businesses are at the heart of rural and urban communities. They are initiatives that are brought to life by the community, for the community - as a way of responding to the issues they're facing.
Community businesses are born through a collective idea to save a local pub, shop or service that could otherwise be lost. They come in all shapes and sizes from woodlands, transport services and pubs, to community-owned shops, libraries, distilleries and farms.
They are a hub for social interaction; opportunities for local employment and training a place to volunteer; to be a part of something that encompasses community spirit, that can adapt and respond to the changing world. A place that brings people together, where no-one is forgotten.
With more and more communities facing the closure of services and facilities, Plunkett's support is needed now more than ever.
With your help, together we can bring more community business ideas to life, helping to ensure no community gets left behind.
However many miles you choose to walk or however much you can raise, thank you. We're delighted to have you on the team.
