Story
September is Children's Cardiomyopathy Awareness Month
It's time to come together for our 10th Annual Walk for a Cure to raise awareness of pediatric cardiomyopathy. Let's go the distance for CCF's Heart Kids!
It takes a team to make a difference. Organize an in-person community walk or plan a virtual walk. Over the years, Teams have walked at beaches, parks, schools, and around their neighborhood.
If you are interested in forming a Walk for a Cure team, please contact Christine Malloy to set up your dedicated walk page. Visit our Walk for a Cure event page for more information and resources.
Form Your Walk Team
1. Determine if you prefer to host a live community walk or a virtual walk. You can also join an existing team or participate as an individual walker.
2. Set up a Walk for a Cure team or individual fundraising page and add your story and walk goal.
3. Invite family, friends, and colleagues to join your walk team and support your fundraising efforts.
4. Broaden your community event by inviting community leaders, schools, or establishments to participate.
5. Order CCF's "It Takes a Team" t-shirt to unify your team and get in the spirit.
6. Download CCF’s "Get Walking" playlist and feel inspired to walk.
Promote Your Walk Team
1. Share your walk page with an email inviting your social and work network to participate.
2. Highlight your efforts on social media using the hashtags #ItTakesATeam and #GoTheDistance as well as tag @CCFHeartKids.
4. Encourage others to order "It Takes a Team" t-shirt to show their support and raise awareness in their community.
5. Post photos and videos to build excitement before and during your walk.
