Story

Every child deserves a bed to sleep in

Imagine trying to get through your day after a night spent on a cold, hard floor.

For too many children in our community, this is their reality. A bed is more than just a piece of furniture – it’s a place where children can rest, dream, and feel safe.

Yet, over 6,000 children in the Wakefield district go to sleep every night without a bed to call their own.

We believe that every child deserves better.

That’s why we’ve joined forces with specialist partners to launch the Wakefield Children’s Bed Appeal, an initiative dedicated to providing beds for children who need them most.

Our Mission

Our mission is simple but powerful: to ensure that every child in the Wakefield District has a comfortable bed to sleep in.

We understand that a bed is a basic need that can have a profound impact on a child’s physical health, emotional well-being, and academic success. By providing a child with a bed, you’re not only giving them a good nights’ sleep, you’re giving them a good education, hope, a future, a routine and stability.

Prosper Wakefield district are working with specialist partners Zarach, and founding partners; Gleeds, Wakefield Community Foundation, Wakefield District Housing, Juice Personnel and SoluPak so we can deliver beds across the district to those who need them.
