Story

For our final video, we are sharing with you survivor stories as interpreted by talent Twin Cities actors. Experience the healing journey survivors of domestic violence go through in the time at Women's Advocates. You can support this journey by making a donation today to help break the cycle of domestic violence!

The past year and half has been unprecedented for all us, but even more so for victim/survivors of domestic violence. In the third video in our 2021 Virtual Fundraiser series, learn how staff and residents made it through the COVID-19 pandemic. Their resiliency will surely inspire you to keep looking forward and standing strong.

For our second video, we take a deep dive into the connections between domestic violence and homelessness. 67% of homeless women in Minnesota are survivors of DV and shelter is just the first step to creating safe, affordable housing for survivors.

Presenting our first ever Women's Advocates music video! Thank you Jada Lynn for telling your story and sharing your song! Help break the cycle of domestic violence in the community by sharing your story today!

Even though once again we have had to transition our in-person Domestic Violence Awareness events to virtual events due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are looking forward and standing strong as an organization in our mission to walk with victim/survivors and the community to break the cycle of domestic violence.

We will be releasing a series of five videos each featuring personal testimony from our staff and supporters about the vital, healing work that transforms the lives of victim/survivors in our community every day. Watch this space for updates of each video when they are released.

Then, on October 21, we will release a longer video and host an in-person in-kind donation drive on the corner of Portland Ave and Avon Street, opposite House of Hope Presbyterian Church. We will be collecting the following NEW items for Welcome Home Baskets for residents moving into new housing after leaving shelter. Join us anytime from 12PM-7PM on October 21st, 2021 at House of Hope Parking Lot off the corner of Portland and Avon in St. Paul.

Please bring and donate any or all of the following items for the baskets:

Laundry Basket/Broom/Dustpan/Trash Bags/Cleaning Supplies/Dishtowels/Silverware

Help us make safe new homes for victim survivors!
