Lace Up and #waddle2023
Help those in our community that are experiencing homelessness by sponsoring and joining us Thanksgiving Day for Waddle Off Your Gobble.
Sponsor or walk with us at the shelter (or virtually) to provide: 2 nights of shelter x 66 beds = $13,728. Each of the 66 beds in our facility is full every night. We depend on YOU to continue to offer a warm bed, basic needs, three meals a day, and most of all, our unique programming.
Our programming looks at the barriers that hinder an individual from being independent and housed. For some, a social security card, ID, or driver's license renewal is needed. We then dig deep into the personal and unique challenges each individual has and create a customized plan to move forward. In just the last month, we moved five individuals to their own homes!
From Program Director, Annette Duffy: “Jen* is moving into housing today after being homeless since October 7, 2021. She is a retired schoolteacher who ended up homeless due to a fixed income. While Jen was signing her lease, she looked at me and said, ‘It already feels like home’.”
*Name changed for privacy. More resident stories found on our blog and newsletters.
Sponsor the #waddle2023 and help us reach our goal of: 2 nights of shelter x 66 beds = $13,728.
Thanksgiving is a time to reflect and be thankful. Put that thankfulness into action and join the #waddle2023. There is no charge to register, but we depend on you to get the word out and help meet our goal.
