Story
In England, we are still in the midst of a housing emergency. As the health crisis gives way to a looming economic recession, more and more people will need our help.
Sleeping on the streets, is cold, debilitating and dangerous. By hosting a virtual sleep out at home (in your garden, on a balcony or in your living room)* you are raising vital funds to ensure Providence Row can continue to support people rough sleeping or living in vulnerable accommodation in East London to get the help they deserve.
Support Providence Row by sleeping away from the comfort of your bed for just one night. A small act, that can raise awareness of the challenges people who are homeless face every day.
How to get involved:
Set-up a fundraiser with a £200 target and share it with your friends and family.
Download our fundraising and awareness resources on our website here .
Choose a suitable evening to sleep out, and pick a safe, secure and socially distanced spot in your garden, balcony or living room floor.
You may choose to brave it on the floor, use cardboard, cushions, build a fort or use a tent.
Bed down in solidarity and be sure to take photos and document your fundraising event to share with those who have sponsored you.
Wake up having made a real difference to someone facing homelessness at this most challenging of times.
Please make sure that you follow current government guidelines when organising your Virtual Sleep Out and adhere to social distancing measures. As the organiser of the event, you will have responsibility for the health and safety of all participants.
