Story
Volunteer Zambia is an international sport programme run by the Wallace Group a collaboration between leading UK sport universities we support and work with the leading Zambian sports NGO, Sport in Action. Together, we use sport to engage, educate and empower young people in Zambia and the UK.
The Wallace Group was formed in 2004 and today comprises seven of the top sport universities from the United Kingdom:
University of Durham , Cardiff Metropolitan University , Loughborough University , University of Northumbria , University of St Andrews , University of Stirling & University of Edinburgh
The University of Bath supports our work with a parallel sports facilities construction programme.
The group has shared a commitment to support the development of sport in Zambia through the Volunteer Zambia project.
Volunteer Zambia is a collaboration between these leading UK sport Universities. Through it we have developed strong working relationships with a number of external organisations, including UK Sport, England Netball, our official charity Volunteer Zambian Foundation, our key Zambian partner, the NGO Sport in Action and the Zambian government.
