Story
At a time when the cost of living is at a record high, for many, the potential of a few days away from usual caring routines appears impossible. VOCAL, Voice of Carers Across Lothian, has opened a cottage in Blair Atholl to provide unpaid carers and people with life-limiting conditions with a relaxing break from caring routines.
Hawthorn Brae is a beautiful self-catering cottage in Blair Atholl which provides unpaid carers and people with life-limiting conditions with a break from caring routines.
Many carers or people with life limiting conditions cant afford a break, particularly a longer trip away with family. Donations help subsidise or cover costs of a stay at the cottage, and increase the number of free breaks that we can offer.
Your donation, no matter how small, will make a difference to carers and those they care for. Your contribution could cover:
£10 to support transport to Hawthorn Brae
£20 essential food and drink supplies
£50 utilities and heating
£100 cleaning and laundry
Thank you for your support.
The cottage is a partnership project which is managed by VOCAL, and was made possible by the entrustment of historic EMMS International legacy funds and funding from the Swinton Paterson Trust.
