Story
This February two determined teams will cycle 244 miles (392 km) in just six days! The route winds through lush, hilly Kerala, taking in the famous backwaters, tea plantations and beaches along the way.
By taking on this challenge, they are raising awareness about the plight of animals farmed for food. Donations provide vital funds to inspire hundreds of thousands of people all over the world to try vegan.
Over 56 billion land animals and trillions of marine animals are farmed and killed for food each year, making animal agriculture the biggest cause of animal suffering on the planet. It's also destroying the environment.
By providing recipes, meal plans, advice and support on everything from nutrition to dining out with ease, Veganuary creates an eye-opening and enjoyable experience for anyone interested in a vegan lifestyle. In 2019, a quarter of a million people worldwide tried vegan with us!
It costs us around £2 to reach out and persuade someone to try vegan. So, if we fill all 80 spaces available on our fundraising trip, the funds raised could be used to persuade around 40,000 people to try vegan for a month.
According to the Vegan Calculator, just one person going vegan for one month saves 33,000 gallons of water, 900 square feet of forest, 600 pounds of CO2 and 30 animals' live.
So if each of the 40,000 people who try vegan with us thanks to our cyclists were to stay vegan for a full month, our cyclists could potentially save:
- 1320 million galons of water!
- 36 million square feet of forests!
- 24 million pounds of Co2!
- 1.2 million animals' lives!
We empower people to make a positive difference for animals, the planet and for their own health.
Please show your support by sponsoring our wonderful cyclists today! Thank you!
