Story
A lot of the cats and kittens we save need vet treatment above and beyond the normal things like vaccinations, neutering and microchipping. This is where you the public can help us.
Cats like Murphy who has to date cost us over £600 in bills due to his dental operation. Cats like Misty who has not only cost us over £700 in vet bills for her dental operation but has a skin condition caused by an unknown allergy. This is treated using steroids but we simply cannot afford the expensive allergy tests at this time to actually find out the cause and so alleviate her suffering via another means rather than using drugs. Cats like Ruby who developed a nasty case of conjunctivitis and needed an eye operation to make a patch to cover her eye in the hope the ulcer would heal better. Cats like Uma who has a lifelong condition requiring regular blood tests and daily medication or she will die.
Those named are just some of the cats who have had expensive treatment. Others need blood tests, poop tests, antibiotics etc. It is rare we take in cats that are 100% fit and healthy because those cats already have nice homes, the ones we get are abandoned, are strays, are feral, have not had treatment for chronic conditions etc. We put them right and find them loving homes where they will get regular vet checks and so prevent many of the things which would not have been an issue if they had been looked after.
