Each year, Minnesotans come together for the largest grassroots food and fund drive in the state -- the March FoodShare campaign. Funds raised through March FoodShare will allow Valley Outreach to purchase food, household and personal care items.
537,890 Minnesotans are facing hunger. 34% of these individuals are under the age of 18.
Valley Outreach is a community-powered nonprofit helping people address food scarcity as the income issue that it is, so they can redirect budget savings into things that may be harder to address. On a weekly basis we serve an average of 700 households, distributing 53,507 pounds of food which equals enough food for 44,589 meals. Food is available through in-person shopping, curb-side pick up and a pop-up community distribution.
In our last fiscal year (2023-24), we served more than 31,900 people, the majority from Ramsey and Washington counties.
