I met Sam at a wedding in Lisbon that I attended in September.

On day two of the wedding celebrations, Sam and his mother Rion, my friend Frank, myself and others were whisked away on a coach where Mariana and Theo's celebrations continued and Sam told me about the Valencia Marathon.

This is a young man who has already run the London Marathon and with little hesitation as we walked to the venue talking about our lives, said "I'll do it for Shuktara".

I told Sam that we had friends and supporters who ran for Shuktara in previous years and I was touched that he offered to do this run for our homes in Kolkata.
